The Royal Wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank…
Guest post via The Outside Bride
We could not get through the week without have a quick talk about the second Royal wedding to be had at Windsor castle this year, following Harry and Meghan in May… Very exciting! Not forgetting the baby news! Gosh the Royal family have a lot going on this month. Congratulations to you all!
Princess Eugenie married her long-term partner Jack Brooksbank in St Georges chapel on Friday 12th October opting for a beautiful autumnal wedding. The youngest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York chose British designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos to create her stunning wedding dress which wowed all who looked upon her. A lovely personal touch was the gown also featured symbols that are personal to Eugenie and Brooksbank, a thistle to acknowledge the couple’s fondness for Balmoral, a shamrock as a nod to the bride’s roots, and a rose and ivy to represent the couple’s home.
There is an emerging trend this year in Royal wedding dresses where classic/minimal seems to be the way forward. Princess Eugenie has been celebrated for her gown boasting a low back and flowing train, after her operation to correct scoliosis at age 12. Very inspiring! But lets not forget Eugenie’s second gown of the evening which blew us away… A blush floor-length dress by Zac Posen, certainly making for a rather dapper couple.
Although many of us like to compare the royal weddings and royal wedding dresses, the cake certainly was not one to compare. With Autumn radiating from the glorious gold plinth which it rested on. Created by Sophie Cabot, their red velvet and chocolate cake compromised of five tiers which the guests enjoyed during the reception. Looks almost to pretty to eat!
